Summer 2012 Employment Opportunities

Outdoor Environmental Education Instructors (Fall - Winter - Spring)
The Outdoor Environmental Education (O.E.E.) Instructor is responsible for providing leadership and instruction of hands-on outdoor/environmental education classes to students in 5th-8th grades.  Supervise evening programs and free-time activities as needed.  The OEE Instructor must possess youth leadership experience, good overall leadership skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, a cooperative attitude, and the ability to work with and understand the needs of school age students.  Degree in Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Studies, Education, or related field.  First Aid and CPR certifications required; training provided.  Lifeguard certification preferred (Spring/Fall).

Summer Resident Camp Counselors Guard or Non-Guard
The Resident Camp Counselor is responsible for providing leadership to a cabin group of 6-8 campers on a weekly basis, as well as leading and assisting camp program activities.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities and experience working with children or camping services. Completion of one or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 18 years.   Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment.  First Aid and CPR certifications required; training provided.

Summer Adventure Trip Counselors
The Adventure Trip Counselor provides leadership on canoeing, backpacking, and kayaking trips to a group of 6-8 campers, ages 11-17.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities and experience working with children or camping services. Experience in canoeing, backpacking, and minimal impact camping.  Completion of one or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 21 years.  Certification in Lifeguarding, Professional CPR, and First Aid; training opportunity available upon hire.  Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to work with youth in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Summer Waterfront Director
The Waterfront Director is responsible for providing a safe aquatics program including swimming and boating activities as well as acting as member of Summer Program Staff Team.  Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience working with children or camping services. Experience supervising aquatic facilities, personnel, and programs.  Completion of one or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 21 years.  Current certifications in Lifeguarding, Professional CPR, First Aid, and W.S.I.  Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Summer Trail Director
The Trail Director is responsible for coordinating off-site camping overnights and wilderness adventure trips as well as acting as a member of the Summer Program Staff team.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities and experience working with children or camping services. Completion of one or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 21 years required according to American Camping Association standards.  Experience in outdoor living skills, minimal impact camping, backpacking, whitewater canoeing, quietwater canoeing, outdoor cooking, map reading, and firebuilding.  Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Summer Teen Leadership Director
The Teen Leadership Director provides program instruction and supervision to Camp's progressive teen leadership program for 15-17 year old youth as well as acts as a member of the Summer Program Staff team. Candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities and experience working with children or camping services and program development. Completion of one or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 21 years. Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Summer Activity Coordinator
The Activity Coordinator provides coordination for camp's progressive program areas, special events, and programming, as well as acts as a member of the Summer Program Staff Team. Candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities, organizational skills, effective communication skills, and experience working with children or camping services and program development. Completion of one or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 21 years. Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
