The U-Nah-Li-Ya Excursion Trip Experience is more than your normal camping getaway; our specially trained wilderness counselors lead campers on the adventures of a lifetime. They will push themselves further than they imagined, build lifelong friendships, and experience the outdoors like never before. Excursion Trips cover more than breathtaking views and rare wildlife observation, they are personal journeys that bring out the best each camper has to offer. Teen develop resilience, strong moral character, and an appreciation for the natural world on these once in a lifetime trips!
It is recommended but not required that campers have prior wilderness camping experience. These two-week camps are specialized adventure programs that fill up fast!
All campers on Excursion Trips must have completed a physical performed by
a physician within 12 months prior to their trip.

Explore a rugged, isolated island, far from the sights and sounds of civilization. Over 200 square miles of unparalleled solitude and adventure for backpackers as they hike ridges, valleys, and rocky shorelines. This trip is becoming a tradition at Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya, including a celebratory banquet upon return.
Weeks 2-3: June 21-July 3
A camp favorite has been improved! Campers will get to explore the famous Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island on Lake Superior, Big Island Lake Wilderness, and cap it all off with a whitewater rafting trip down the Peshtigo River. Experienced campers will have a blast enjoying the constant adventure!
Weeks 5-6: July 12-24
The cornerstone trip of Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya. Nine days of paddling the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, deeply rooted and celebrated traditions, and lifelong bonds only begin to describe the experience this trip brings to campers. Family and friends are invited to honor them upon return at camp.
