This excursion starts at the nationally recognized Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore along Lake Superior. Campers will hike along the beautiful rock cliffs and beaches. Next they will take a short ferry ride to Grand Island National Recreation Area, where they will camp, hike, and swim the island’s breathtaking overlooks, sandy beaches, and deep hardwoods. Then, campers will take on canoeing in the secluded Big Island Lake Wilderness where they can observe wildlife and incredible night skies. The grand finale of the trip is whitewater rafting on the Peshtigo River, guided by a professional service.
Campers and parents/legal guardians need to fill out a waiver form for the whitewater portion of the trip. Click here for a printer friendly version of the form.
